Launched in September 2013 through a Gloucester County United Way grant, VetAbility helps veterans and their families to achieve greater self-sufficiency by removing barriers to employment, and finding employment opportunities that work for both employer and veterans. VetAbility thoroughly understands the unique needs of veterans, and serves as an advocate for those who are seeking employment. Our strategies reflect a genuine compassion and appreciation for the service and sacrifice our veterans have given.

VetAbility is a “veteran-for-veteran” program that offers:

  • Intensive Case Management and individualized planning
  • Rapid Response Team to address stabilization needs related to food, clothing, shelter
  • Monthly peer support luncheons
  • Vocational and Transferable Skills Assessment
  • Job-seeking support and coaching
  • Access to an expansive network of collaborating partners
  • Use of Gill’s Closet – Honoring VetAbility’s founding advocate Don Gill, the closet provides essential food, clothing and household items

To date VetAbility has proudly served over 750 local Veterans and
their families, and found jobs for over 200. On any given day VetAbility is
serving over 200 veterans.
